Oyster farming on the coastal mud flats near Fangyuan, China. The northern parts of the mudflats here are slowly eroding, and growing in the south. Over 50% of Taiwan's coastline has become armored with dykes and tetrapods, altering the productivity of the natural marine habitat. Oyster farming here has a long history going back hundreds years. Access is at low tide with three-wheeled motor carts and cattle-powered wagons.
